Practicing and experimenting | Illustration

Another practice piece where I was just experimenting and figuring things out. I actually lost the reference image for this one, but it was a girl with a similar pose and outfit, which I then adapted into my own style.

After rendering, the whole piece felt really bland, so I started playing around to see how I could make it more interesting. In the end, I added a lot more lines and texture to the face, hair, and background. Changing the background color and adding small details like moles on her face surprisingly helped a lot and made the piece feel more alive.
