Venice is a unique place in the world and per se is worth a visit for sure.
But its Carnival (also unique) makes it extra special.
By this time it's undeniably atmospheric to walk down the lane in Venice and pass cloaked and masked figures.
Masks are a symbol of the city throughout the year but in February everything is transformed and has greater meaning.
I loved visiting venice at this time. it was as if he had suddenly gone back in time!
