Pushed back... Again!

So it appears the answer for my last question is "...well yes, but actually no".

According to some Ethereum dev channel, the shutdown of the mining operations will be pushed back... Again. So I guess GPU mining is still on the menu.

This makes me wonder, will we eventually get an hard-fork like the one originating Ethereum Classic?

In the meantime I'm gonna reconsider my mining stuff. Maybe it's worth investing a little bit more in a better card, while keeping mg gtx 1080?
