Ok, many of you might not use it or not care, or not even know I am on CoinMarketCap (CMC). But I am! And I know many of you are too... but I never had time to put some effort into following you all there.

I want to TRY change that!

Why CMC now?

No big reason, just the next on my unlimited list of actions. And yes, I do need to do the same on Reddit, but for now I have decided on CMC.

What's the catch? None, nothing for you at least to win there... unless you want to be an influencer or something, etc. Then do please have a look. But put lots of cubes of salt in it... It's not a very transparent crowd, although like anywhere else, there are 💎's everywhere.

It does have some push, but I would say people need momentum for them to keep supporting you in terms of "bots"... or whatever they have as "following trails".

I also haven't had much patience to go there because it's full of traders, and honestly I don't want that rabbit hole for myself. Some don't even care about technology... 🤑 ONLY MONEY! Everyone does... but you know what I mean...

Not a critic, just my interpretation of what I see there (and I am there because I want, no one asked me).

Although MY crap metrics there don't allow me to expand into bigger crowds, and also don't align with what I do elsewhere... SO, I need to do something about it. And what better way to call up for magical unicorns on Hive 😍

That's right... You are all magical Hive unicorns (please don't make me go AI forge that picture LOLOL - but you can) because I usually never ask much (and if I do, I try to reward people for it, even if very little to no much monetary value, but it ALWAYS has significance) and most of you go fricking all over the place supporting me around the fircking all darn things I do.

That's the one million dollar question indeed, isn't it? And the simplest (but often not useful) answer is, depends on what you are looking for.

I am a bit always all over the place and usually identified as someone positive, excited and always looking forward to march ahead. I rarely open up deep dialogs with lots of criticism or negativity (even if funded) because that's more or less how I am in life. Does not mean I don't see the bads, and all of those things... I just cope better with being on the positivism for my own mental health. The world already has too many dark sides :D - including my own one (when that manifests itself).

Having said that, and just as an example that might help you providing me some "extra info" for me to give it a try on recommending you something.

As an example, my main comfort zone is troubleshooting and learning about the guts of everything (that's more from my engineering side of it probably). But as I drilled along this path on Hive, I have started growing interest for solving certain problems the chain was not really actively focusing on, but that would both add more value to the chain (even if just a little percentage) or would make my life (on chain) easier. And that was the fact that living in NZ, my network distance to most things on Hive was the "longest" for me... (most things are in Europe and USA these days), and I am a really demanding person in terms of response times and how fluid things are (vs high resolution/quality of things in general).

So, naturally I have worked towards making this better for me, built my Hive-Engine node, and later my own witness and Hive API node. Then by trying to influence apps to provide the ability to select specific custom nodes, I was able to point the apps to my own infrastructure, and benefit from the local speed of things, which made me very happy about it.

At the same time, because the infrastructure is open, others (maybe around NZ, Oceania or even Asia) can also use it too. For free, no questions asked, like it should (while surviving the chaos of the world, aka hackers/scammers/etc). And around all this, I have also embarked on helping projects around the ecosystem, either with my testing skills or feedback.

This is where I mostly dedicate my time. Other than that is the pleasure of playing games, interacting with people, finding new things, meeting new people (like you for example). I am an explorer by nature. This all comes with extra knowledge that I accumulate over time allowing me to feel comfortable with my stake on the platform, while within my best ability, make an effort for teaching along the way.

So, what you want to focus on?

Just having fun?
Do you want to help any particular type of projects/areas, etc? Any area in particular if you fancy such.
Do you want to grow infrastructure? (I am guessing no, but will let you confirm)
Do you want to be a messenger? (mostly influence path + educational) - I am trying to be this too because of my own way of teaching things, using the @forkyishere account.
Do you want to create a product on Hive or solution, or anything you deem valued (even if only for you), but you need help or direction? - this might be something I can help with.

Anyhow, you get the idea. Hive is a very big place. I could throw you to anywhere (aka suggest) I would see "we need people in this area" but that area is probably the area where I most struggle in recommending or guide people, which is "clear communication for audiences to understand this big huge Hive Community project" (in a nutshell do marketing about Hive elsewhere and with the right things that people would care about retaining more of them long term), and that probably relates to the reason you are asking the question in first place.

I try it myself (outside of Hive I mean), but I am miserable at it... always end up feeling I am being more of a jester than anything else. 🤦‍♂️🤣 - But I really don't bother though and as long it does "something"... I am ok with it... and I think I can tell I did something already. Is it seen as valuable to everyone, probably not, but I will keep improving on what I do based on others feedback. This is a decentralized community, so if everyone does a bit of "something" they are good at, eventually the platform becomes quite valuable.

Along anything you may reply, if you also let me know any apps or things you enjoyed around Hive so far, that might help me stir the conversation to the right path.

Well, I hope it was clear that with this kind of question I did not expect a short and easy answer. Instead I wanted to open up a discussion, sort of like what we are having.

I guess it goes back to my realization a few weeks ago, about Hive ... well, not being as hopping of a place as it used to be. Projects have failed (as they typically do, but it seemed like this happened more than they succeeded lately), the price of the coin is in the gutters (not something that has truly bothered me as much as others), and many amazing people have left (this is actually what I find most discouraging, and it is probably tied closely to the first two factors). Still, all of these things are not enough to get me to throw the towel, so I'm still here, along with a handful like minded Hivers. What now?

Over the month or so, I did get excited about a few things, as you can see in my blog. Other then my usual posts about food, beer, and murals, I found blocktunes, where I musicians can share their earnings with others, and scrobble.life, a new way to write and share reviews of films, series, books, etc. and slothbuzz, a new front-end where you can grow yourself a tamagochi like companion. - Yes, I know... still, it's something that caught my attention, even though so far I haven't managed to get one yet.

On Scrobble.life I had some issues figuring out how to write posts through their site which is not really intuitive. When I finally did, I shared it in a post that got some amazing resonance from loads of people who ran into the same issues. That was the teaching part you mentioned, and that was quite fun actually. Though other than being a messenger (number 4) I really hope that it does more of helping to grow the infrastructure. I don't mean in the programming sense (number 2), as that has never been my world, but instead adding to the activity by using things (number 3). That's also what I've been doing on blocktunes, though with a much smaller resonance.

Of course fun has always been my driving motivator (number 1), which got me to experience a bunch of things, including games like splinterlands, maffiawars, or dcity. All of them are in the past now, for various reasons. At some time I was also super enthusiastic about onboarding new people, and teaching newbies about Hive. Both have had very modest results. Then there is DeFi and such projects as Leo, Cub, and all the great hullabaloo around them, which I enjoyed being part of, but then didn't have the expected results. (Though honestly, I am not sure what I expected out of them personally.)

So again, this is not like a clear and distinct answer to your questions (to my question). It is much rather supposed to add to the big picture and lead the discussion hopefully to somewhere inspiring.

In any case, I appreciate any suggestion you may have, and I am happy to see that you're a witness I can vote for. After all, I've already had more personal interaction with you than with most other witnesses.

Things changed... the lower prices filtered a couple of people I guess. But whom knows what is being achieved, may want to stay at "many costs", due to what people understand that is being done. And I can't convince people (should not), I can only teach people to verify.

I can keep feeding you projects almost every day until the end of the year if you want :D LOL (kidding). But in terms of rate, and if we consider they are "little projects/tools", then it's real... like the one I made recently about transactions... There is a point with this one (but later). The AI stuff just made super simple to create on top of Hive (which has basically zero costs).

If you fancy taking a bite at that kind of thing, I have created a recent post teasing people to JUST try it! here... if you try it, drop it below that post for me to test it, please.

You gave me just the right picture. Thanks. And I will get back to you... I need some time to think about it. Also, because it's quite late here, and at these hours, I am not really thinking too hard anymore (unless on urgent matters, where my survival instinct kicks in, like in most humans).

I figured most people might hit this problem (but thanks for verifying). I had this account as my initial witness in a very long time ago... but because of the way I like to separate things (I like to separate things into separate accounts for a diverse multitude of technical reasons).

As my info says on this account, my witness is at @atexoras.witness (and on that witness, if you vote via Peakd, for example, it will state that this is me) - but keep on verifying (always best). There are lots of scammy people out there.

I sort of tried making this simpler, and I know it plays a little bit against me (using different accounts) in terms of votes, but I am fine with that, because the ones that vote, I know they are voting because they want and know who I am, and they are not doing it because of any interests. Which is what I want anyway.

Anyhow, appreciate your vote, especially when you have already voted for 30 witnesses (well done). And I am fine if you don't... I always say... I am here because I want, not because I need. 🫡

EDIT: almost forgot... the Hive Transactions Flow is sort of an effort I am making to show (aka prove) people that people can create a project with ZERO costs, even on its initial maintenance initiative. It's still ongoing, and I have been slowed down by the website company I am using, most likely, but I don't care, I have another way to continue within the same premises. I will update people in due time about it, and open source the code once I am happy with people trying it for fun.
