An Introduction, and a Big Hello! :)

Hello, Steemians!

I'm half refined, half hippy, half educator, and half wide-eyed kid with the world still to learn.

Wait, I think that equals something like two whole people, but I'm new here, so maybe they won't check my math!

I've lived everywhere from Los Angeles to Baltimore, many places in between, and seem to have settled down in a quiet wooded spot near Nashville, Tennessee, where the deer have come to rely on my morning feedings and bad singing too much for me to leave.

My degrees are in counseling, general education, and special education, which allowed me, for the past 31 years, to teach special education, as well as mathematics/algebra, advanced writing, etc., but I finally decided that neither my literal nor figurative hearts could take it any more, so this very month marks the end of it ALL! Well, no, I'm not going to die. But I did finally retire. I mean, from teaching, that is. But since a teacher's pension is smaller than a flea's toenail, I am currently looking for work, (preferably something I can do from home) so I can still pay our bills.

Well, enough of all that.

Hobbies? Did I mention I've been teaching for the past 31 years of my life? (What's a hobby?!) But give me music and/or poetry and a handful of family or friends, and I've got most everything I need. :)
