Namaste?

You might have been to a yoga class where the instructor said this before and/or after class or maybe you’ve heard it somewhere else, but do you know what it means?

In Hinduism this means “I bow to the divine in you”. Isn’t that beautiful? Instead of greeting someone with prejudice you lift others up instead with a peaceful and respective gesture. Namaste also reflects the belief that the divine and self is the same in you and me. We are not different from each other, we are equal.

You don't have to say the word namaste to greet someone in this way. Next time you meet someone, friend or a stranger, think that you bow to the divine in them and see how it makes you feel.

Fill every moment you can with love,
Tone
