Walk with me through ancient trees, where few men ever tread.
An eerie silence stills the leaves
and whispering overhead.
They're watching us, wary distrust,
from rumors on the wind.
From chatter of the birds and squirrels they cannot trust in men.
Out of the corner of my eye
A furtive shadow slides
A crow calls out somewhere on high
A chipmunk runs and hides
'We mean no harm' I softly say
while scanning forest floor
'We'll not disturb your peace today
With you we're not at war'
But words mean nothing to the wood
Sensing the soul's intent it could
Determine if you're friend or foe
If heaven sent or from below
So vibrate love and shine out light
In woods across the nation
And if we're lucky we just might..
Forge bonds with all creation.

Beautiful poetry! It looks so peaceful there. I feel most at home in the woods, it's always kind of cleansing for me. I always look at those huge trees and wonder all they've lived through.

I feel the exact same way. Growing up we lived on a dead end road, the lake in front, forest behind. If I wasn't by the water I was somewhere in those woods, likely down at the stream :)

Trees are one of my favorite things about this crazy planet we live on, haha, I've been a tree hugger since childhood, long before I ever heard the term :)
I was a climber and a lover, ooer. Never a hugger although I suppose that's just love!
Oh, definitely a climber! Most of my hugging was up in the tree, not at the base 😆

Looks like a nice walk :) I got momentarily thrown by the winter gear, as usually when I'm walking in forests it's the rainforests back home which is tropical XD

Yup, this is NY, so no matter where in the state we are it's within a few degrees temp. This was from a few weeks ago, just when fall was starting. Also we took the motorcycle here, always chillier on the bike :)

I literally just finished watching the trilogy again haha, I love the Ents :) Those movies are my comfort films, if Im feeling under the weather bring on the fellowship XD
